The city of Grandis Urbs takes the name of the nation and truly represents the beauty found no where else. Grandis Urbs is constantly expanding with new buildings being added weekly. It is the home of Starfleet Academy. Each building is fully furnished. This page contains only 1 of the 3 cities on this map.
  | Tower 1 Created by Swiftowl7 The very first building ever built in the nation of Grandis Urbs. Previous home to Starfleet HQ, Tower 1 now servers as a hub to minecart traffic between Starfleet Academy, Grandis Urbs, and Cloud City. The hall mark of this building is the golden starfleet logo seen as one crosses the glass bridge. Tower 1 was the tallest sky scrapper in Grandis Urbs until March 2012, when minecraft extended the height limit in their 1.2 update. |
  | Library Created by Swiftowl7 The Library is one of the most elegant buildings ever created. It styles iron Columns and an iron dome. The interior houses the wealth of knowledge for Starfleet Academy, SFA. It is lite by hanging lights and natural light through the sky lights in the dome. This building uses the traditional style of brick used in the upper city of Grandis Urbs. |
  | Starfleet Academy Administration Created by Swiftowl7 Once home to classes of the academy this tower now houses offices for professors of Starfleet Academy. It includes one lecture hall / press room and a cafe modeled after the tower at the University of Kentucky. This building was erected as the first campus building and is dedicated to the Twin Towers which were destroyed during the 9/11 attacks. Outdoors, it features two gardens. One is a concrete garden and the other is the cadet court yard. These two areas were popular hangout spots for SFA cadets before the storm of 2011 when the biome was mistakenly changed during an update to the full 1.0 version of minecraft. |
  | Towns Alumni Hall Created by Swiftowl7 Towns Alumni Hall sits just off of the northwest corner of the SFA Admin Tower and shares the cadet court yard. It has one of the most uniquest architectures found in the entire nation. The Hall is modeled after the Towns Alumni Lecture Hall at Liberty University, with the exception of the roof. This building features one lecture hall equipped with a stage and two SFA professor offices. This building has become a landmark in the lower Grandis Urbs area. |
   | Tower Delta Created by Swiftowl7 Tower Delta, home to City Place Eatery, PNC Bank, and Starfleet Internal Affairs, is located off of the southeastern corner of SFA Admin Tower. Modeled after the SFA Admin Tower, it features sleek internal finishings only found in the most modern buildings. It is known for its use of glass as most of the internal walls our glass and uses the new blocks of wooden planks added in the 1.2.4 update. Across the river the TD logo can be seen made of gold. It is designed to be constantly read as one crosses the brick bridge into the lower downtown area. Next to the logo is a lava fountain. Another unique feature is the cat walk, that runs over main street, connecting to the SFA Admin Tower. This feature was added to provide ease of access to the professors who also serve in internal affairs. During the installation of this cat walk, the SFA Admin Tower had to undergo a major renovation to the top floor. Just like its counterpart, SFA Admin Tower, Tower Delta was built block by block. |
 | Volcan Temple Created by Swiftowl7 The Volcan Temple is most certainly an unusual structure. It is made of material not from this earth. It features internal flames around its base. It is rumored that the shrine goes deep underground where one must pass a test to enter the a place known as the nether. The temple is located southwest of Tower Delta and connects the lower downtown Grandis Urbs area by land with Tower 1. |
  | Care Takers Cottage Created by Swiftowl7 Located between Tower 1 and the Volcan Temple is the Care Takers Cottage. It was created for the sole purpose of quickly passing the night while the city was in it infantcy. |
 | Central Bank Created by Swiftowl7 Among the first buildings built in Grandis Urbs is the Central Bank. The interior is designed to remind one of the grandeur of a bank. This building soon will be closed as the central bank will soon occupy the first floor of the Tower of Commerce which is located at the end of West Main Street. |
 | Iron and Brick Bridges Created by Swiftowl7 Connecting the Care Taker's Cottage and the Central Bank is the Iron Bridge. It was designed with a breath taking view spot of the lower downtown area. The Brick Bridge, seen in the distance, connects West Main Street to Main Street. |
   | Tower of Commerce Created by Swiftowl7 At the end of West Main Street is the Tower of Commerce. It will soon house the central bank along with other financial offices. Only the first floor has been completed of this massive structure. The style reflects that of the Central Bank featuring the same cracked bricks foundation and iron roof. The building is not slated to open until mid-April. |
 | Bar & Hotel Created by Swiftowl7 Among the simplest buildings is the Bar and Hotel located on West Main Street. It features four beds upstairs and a bar area with jukebox downstairs. |
  | Resturant and Patio Created by Swiftowl7 A dedicated restaurant featuring its own shore side patio is located between the Bar and Central Bank. The patio has a glorius view of Tower 1 |
   | Starfleet Academic Center Created by Swiftowl7 One of the largest buildings in the nation, Starfleet Academic Center feature 8 stories of classrooms and offices. It also contains the largest lecture hall currently in existence. Renovations were done to the molding of the building upon the update of being able to place stairs upside down. This building even contains a minecart system that leads directly to Tower 1, which use to contain the original Starfleet Head Quarters. This tower is a maze filled with directional signs to get you where you are going. It is the only tower that does not contain an elevator or staircase that goes from level 1 to level 8. Built block by block, this tower is the gem of the city. |
 | Visitor's Centre Created by Swiftowl7 The Visitor's Centre is located north of the Starfleet Academic Center. It is designed, externally, after the Liberty University Visitor Center. The building is slated to be gutted leaving only the external shell. This will be the first complete renovation in the nation. |
 | Executive Apartments Created by Swiftowl7 Six apartments, adjacent to the Library, were built in a stylish cobble stone. Equipped with luxury rooms each apartment is highly priced. |
 | NEW Executive Apartments Renovated by Swiftowl7 Renovated during the construction of the Clock Tower and Kirk Hall, the Executive Apartments received a face-lift to its west side. The renovation consisted of stairs ascending to the Library and outdoor lights installed along the face of the building. Rent your apartment today! |
  | Built as the foundation to the Library, the Post Office and Jewelry stores are attractive attractions just off of East main Street. These two stores feature a roof top terrace accesable from the Library level. |
    | East Gate & Winter Monument Created by Swiftowl7 The East Gate is the main entrance into Grandis Urbs. The steps lead up to the East Court Yard behind the Library. Next to the East Gate is the Winter monument. Made of mostly glass and spirals of stone, the monument features a fountain and garden inside. When the city was upturned by the unpredicted biome change, due to the minecraft update, the monument was constructed to remember the beauty that the city once had. |

   | Kirk Hall Created by Swiftowl7 Named after Captain James T. Kirk, Kirk Hall stands three stories tall in the center of the Academy. After many months of building sky scrappers for campus buildings, the decision was made to add a new lower style of building. Capping the building at three stories leaves plenty of room for classrooms and offices. With the new height restrictions on campus buildings it was also decided to introduce a new exterior look to campus, moving from the traditional mixture of red bricks and stone to the use of iron. Kirk Hall is the first building on campus, and in the nation, to have an exterior of solid iron. The hall was completed and open on April 1, 2012. |
  | Clock Tower Created by Swiftowl7 Located in the Visitor Centre's Court Yard and between the Library and Kirk Hall, the Clock Tower stands visible to all. With the attempt at placing a working note block for the bell it was decided to place the new lamp block at the top instead allowing the clock face to be illuminated at night. During construction of this tower, sidewalk lights were also added allowing for snow to be melted along the sidewalks in the Court Yard. Steps to the Library from the Executive Apartments were also added. |

Starfleet Fleet Office is the first official building of Starfleet Command Head Quarters. Taking advantage of the new height limits, SFFO stands over 200 blocks high. This building is one of the rare buildings built with a mod. MCedit was used to replicate the floors quickly. SFFO is now the tallest building in the nation as of April 11, 2012. |
    | Officer's Suites Created by Swiftowl7
Designed after Kirk Hall and located off its west side, the Officer's Suites is completely iron and glass. This building houses fleet admirals and captains. Built block-by-block without mods, just the empty framework is an art all of its own. Even with a roof top pool, the feature of this building is the private beach reserved for the building's residents. This building also houses Swiftowl7 in its luxury penthouse. |
 | The T-Room Created by Swiftowl7 The T-Room is modeled after the T-Room in Lynchburg, VA. It serves greasy but tasty sandwiches. This diner rests just West of the City. |

This is a perfect place to hang with your friends. Come see music concerts and poetry performed on the stage that is located under six note blocks. The Nook Cafe also features a small library and a balcony. Located next to the East Gate and Bakery this is an awsome place! |
